Softball Recap: Hesperia Comes Up Short

Hesperia lost against Burroughs back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Scorpions came up short against the Burros, falling 18-5. The Scorpions' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Marlie Munoz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Mata, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Hesperia's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10-1. As for Burroughs, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hesperia will challenge rival Apple Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Burroughs is set to square off against their familiar foe Oak Hills at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
