Basketball Game Preview: Faith Lutheran Lions vs. Harvest Christian Academy Saints

The Faith Lutheran Lions will head out to face off against the Harvest Christian Academy Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Harvest Christian Academy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Faith Lutheran, who comes in off a win.

Faith Lutheran is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Coram Deo Academy Rhetoric on Friday. Faith Lutheran enjoyed a cozy 41-25 victory over Coram Deo Academy Rhetoric.

Among those leading the charge was Kenny Hoff, who posted 20 points. Another player making a difference was Trent Reynolds, who earned ten points.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Harvest Christian Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were beaten by Trinity Christian Academy 87-45. The Saints were down 75-34 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Faith Lutheran will have to keep a close watch on Ryan Colton and Gavin Chance, a pair of players who had a big impact on Harvest Christian Academy's prior game. Colton went 7 of 16 en route to 15 points along with five boards and three steals, while Chance went 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Colton is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Ricky Holcombe was another key player, putting up eight points.

Faith Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Harvest Christian Academy, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-5.

Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's matchup: Faith Lutheran has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 50% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Harvest Christian Academy, though, as they've only made 18.2% of their three-pointers this season. Given Faith Lutheran's sizable advantage in that area, Harvest Christian Academy will need to find a way to close that gap.

Faith Lutheran ended up a good deal behind Harvest Christian Academy in their previous meeting on January 14th, losing 42-24. Can Faith Lutheran avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
