Basketball Recap: Crestwood Knights vs. Hartsville Red Foxes
Crestwood's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hartsville Red Foxes, sneaking past 56-54. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their 23-point performance the game before.
Leading Crestwood to victory were Saniya Williams and London Vaughn. Williams went 6 of 14 en route to 20 points, while Vaughn posted 17 points in addition to five assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonee McClain, who had four points along with five boards and three steals.
Crestwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hartsville only pulled down one offensive board.
Hartsville lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jaz Reyes, who scored 15 points. Ariel Leatch was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.
The win snapped Crestwood's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-12 record. As for Hartsville, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.
