Basketball Recap: Gig Harbor Tides vs. North Thurston Rams
Gig Harbor suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2024 on Thursday. They were outmatched by the North Thurston Rams and fell 86-40. While losing is never fun, the Tides can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Rams are ranked 16th).
North Thurston's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Soraya Ogaldez led the charge by putting up 32 points and eight steals. Gig Harbor wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-51 defeat against Lincoln on the 8th. As for North Thurston, they have also already played their next game, a 77-49 win against Bellarmine Prep on the 8th.
