Basketball Game Preview: Santa Fe Indians vs. Friendswood Mustangs

The Santa Fe Indians will head out to face off against the Friendswood Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Santa Fe will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating La Porte, who they had gone 0-8 against in their eight prior meetings. Santa Fe skirted past La Porte 55-52. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Indians' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 598th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 229th).

Meanwhile, Friendswood entered their tilt with Ball on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They strolled past the Tornadoes with points to spare, taking the game 53-35.

Santa Fe pushed their record up to 10-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Friendswood, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season.

Santa Fe came out on top in a nail-biter against Friendswood in their previous matchup on January 3rd, sneaking past 41-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Santa Fe since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
