Basketball Recap: Winside Comes Up Short

Winside lost against Tri County Northeast back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Winside Wildcats took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tri County Northeast Wolfpack.

Despite the loss, Winside still got an impressive performance from Hadleigh Schutt, who posted 26 points and seven steals. That was a full 68.4% of Winside's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Topp, who earned eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Winside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Tri County Northeast, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Winside won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Creighton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tri County Northeast, they and Ponca will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
