The Staunton River Golden Eagles will face off against the Jefferson Forest Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Jefferson Forest will be up against a hot Staunton River team: the squad just extended their winning streak to nine. The Golden Eagles never let Fleming get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Friday.

The team relied heavily on Kailynne Keister, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Ava Overstreet also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Staunton River hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Jefferson Forest made easy work of Gretna on Monday and carried off an 11-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavaliers.
Kimber Spence was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Ella Walker was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Reynolds, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Jefferson Forest pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Staunton River, their record is now 11-2.
Both Staunton River and Jefferson Forest just can't seem to miss. The Golden Eagles have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Jefferson Forest struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Staunton River suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to Jefferson Forest in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
