Volleyball Recap: Burleson Takes a Loss

Burleson and Aledo squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Burleson had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Aledo Bearcats. The defeat continues a trend for the Elks in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now lost eight in a row.

Haley Peterson paced Burleson's offense, picking up seven kills. Peterson got some help from Brooklyn Lynes and her 12 assists.

Aledo had a senior duo take command as Ava Reding had six digs and 19 assists and Logyn Denbow had eight digs and two aces. Reding is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in the last 15 games she's played.

Burleson's loss dropped their record down to 24-16. As for Aledo, the victory (which was their 22nd in a row) raised their record to 33-7.

As of now, neither Burleson nor Aledo have any future games scheduled.
