Baseball Recap: Lake Stevens Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Lake Stevens dropped their record down to 14-6 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell 4-1 to the Eastlake Wolves. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Vikings couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Eastlake, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.

For Eastlake's part, Connor Maynard looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Maynard has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Eastlake's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Rodrigo Montano, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most hits Montano has posted since back in April.

Lake Stevens wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Bothell on the 15th. As for Eastlake, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-2 victory against Issaquah on the 15th.
