Preview: Magnet Cove vs. Quitman
On Friday Quitman take on Magnet Cove at 7:00 PM. Quitman are coming into the game hot, having won five in a row.
Last Friday, Quitman put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They blew past Cutter-Morning Star 37-8. Sophomore Holden Martin, who picked up 92 yards on the ground and threw 3 TDs, was a major factor in Quitman's success. Martin has been a consistent playmaker for Quitman as this was the 5th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, Magnet Cove have had to suffer through a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their contest against Poyen by a conclusive 35-6 score. Magnet Cove were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Their wins bumped Quitman to 5-0 and Magnet Cove to 2-3. After the lofty point totals in their previous games, we'll see if they're able to heat things up even more while facing each other.
