Softball Recap: Riverheads Comes Up Short

If Riverheads was riding high fresh off their 12-5 takedown of Staunton last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gladiators fell 11-7 to the Buffalo Gap Bison on Tuesday. The Gladiators were not able to make up for their loss to the Bison from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Riverheads dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Buffalo Gap, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Riverheads will head out to challenge Fort Defiance at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Buffalo Gap, they will be playing at home against Staunton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Storm have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.11 runs per game on average), something the Bison will no doubt try to take advantage of.
