Basketball Recap: Tse' Yi' Gai Comes Up Short

Tse' Yi' Gai was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 60-46 to the Cottonwood Classical Prep Coyotes. The Dine Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Coyotes earlier this season, when they won 45-39.

Despite the defeat, Tse' Yi' Gai saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Malia Yazzie posted seven points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Yazzie a new career-high in points.

It was another big night for Ryah Carlson, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 22 steals for Cottonwood Classical Prep. Another player making a difference was Abby Dyer, who put up eight points and five boards.

Tse' Yi' Gai's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Cottonwood Classical Prep, their victory ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-14.

Tse' Yi' Gai has already played their next matchup (against Rehoboth Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Cottonwood Classical Prep has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Cuba.
