Baseball Recap: Melbourne Central Catholic Takes a Loss

Melbourne Central Catholic easily dispatched Heritage last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers fell just short of the Satellite Scorpions by a score of 7-5 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Hustlers have suffered since April 2, 2024.

Melbourne Central Catholic got a good showing from Tyler Mitchell, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Austen Hester was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Jayden McNamara also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Melbourne Central Catholic fell to 3-1. As for Satellite, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Melbourne Central Catholic will challenge Astronaut at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Satellite, they will square off against Rockledge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
