Preview: Kootenai Warriors vs. Highland Huskies

After two games on the road, Kootenai is heading back home. They will take on the Highland Huskies at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, Kootenai took a serious blow against Coeur du Christ Academy, falling 60-30. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Kootenai has scored all season.

Even though Highland has not done well against Timberline recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Highland came out on top in a nail-biter against Timberline and snuck past 47-44. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Highland.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Highland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ty Goeckner, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Watson, who scored eight points along with three steals.

Kootenai dropped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Highland, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Kootenai came up short against Highland when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 64-53. Will Kootenai have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
