Basketball Recap: Lordsburg Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Lordsburg won the last time they faced Animas, and Zeke De La O did his part to make sure it happened again. The Lordsburg Mavericks breezed by the Animas Panthers to the tune of 65-31 on Tuesday thanks in part to De La O, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Lordsburg's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Scott, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Animas lost, don't look at James Jarvis. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 9 en route to 14 points. Tallon Marble was another key player, going 5 for 12 on his way to 11 points and five rebounds.

Lordsburg's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-10. As for Animas, they are on a 28-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Lordsburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-49 loss against Cobre on the 23rd. Animas has also already played their next match, a 73-15 defeat against Magdalena on the 23rd.
