Football Game Preview: Eastern Guilford Wildcats vs. Northeast Guilford Rams + How To Watch

Eastern Guilford is a perfect 10-0 against Northeast Guilford since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wildcats will take on the Rams at 7:30 p.m.

Eastern Guilford is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Northern Guilford on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Wildcats came up short against the Nighthawks, falling 34-14. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Nighthawks are ranked 33rd).

The losing side was boosted by Javion Majette, who rushed for 58 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 111 yards on 12 of 17 attempts. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Northeast Guilford had just enough and edged out Asheboro 38-35 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Eastern Guilford better keep an eye on JaQuez Crawford. He was instrumental in Northeast Guilford's win, rushing for 106 yards and one score on only eight carries, while also picking up 65 receiving yards and one TD. Those 106 rushing yards gave Crawford a new career-high. Elijiah Jones was another key player, gaining 102 total yards.

Eastern Guilford has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Northeast Guilford, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Everything came up roses for Eastern Guilford against Northeast Guilford in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-24 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Rams' Ashton Timberlake, who picked up 100 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
