Baseball Recap: Carthage Falls Short of Spring Hill in the Playoffs

Carthage and Spring Hill squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Carthage had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since April 1st.

This is the second loss in a row for Carthage and nudges their season record down to 20-15-1. As for Spring Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 32-7 record this season.

Spring Hill will take on Brock on Saturday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. Carthage will be paying especially close attention to Spring Hill's match: after Spring Hill faces off against Carthage, they'll take on Carthage again on Saturday.
