Volleyball Recap: Essex Tech Comes Up Short

Essex Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Arlington Spy Ponders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spy Ponders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in April.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-16, 25-14.

When it comes to explaining why Essex Tech lost, don't look at Barrett Cross. Despite the final result, he had six digs and two aces. Cross is also crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 13 every time he's taken the court this season. Isaac Mauricio also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

Essex Tech's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Arlington, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-6.

Essex Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. After both having extra time off, Arlington and Braintree will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th.
