Baseball Recap: Rancho Cotate Finds Playoff Glory Versus Livermore

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Rancho Cotate walked away with it. They skirted past the Livermore Cowboys 12-10. 12 seems to be a good number for the Cougars as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on Caden Bolin Percy, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gauge Cummings, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three RBI and one run.

Rancho Cotate always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Rancho Cotate and bumps their season record up to 15-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Livermore, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.

Coming up, Rancho Cotate will head out to challenge Tamalpais at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Tailed Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Livermore does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
