Baseball Recap: West Mesa Takes a Loss

If West Mesa was riding high fresh off their 11-4 takedown of Highland on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valley Vikings on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost seven in a row.

West Mesa saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Damian Nieto, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

West Mesa now has a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Mesa will host Manzano at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Valley, they will be playing at home against Eldorado at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
