Softball Recap: Wolfe County Has No Trouble Against Jenkins

Wolfe County barely beat Jenkins the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolves blew past the Cavaliers 14-1 on Saturday. Considering the Wolves have won five games by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Chloy Creech made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Creech was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reaghan Patton, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Abby Stone was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Wolfe County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.

Wolfe County's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Jenkins, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Wolfe County will host Jackson City at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Jenkins, they will head out to challenge Buckhorn at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cavaliers are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
