Basketball Game Preview: Dixon Bulldogs vs. Richlands Wildcats

Dixon hasn't had much luck against Richlands recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Dixon Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Richlands Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Dixon is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They received a blow as they fell 58-39 to White Oak. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 574th, while the Vikings are ranked 112th).

Despite the loss, Dixon saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jacorian Taylor posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Pena, who had four points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Richlands scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell to Croatan 83-78. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Richlands' defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Dixon, their loss dropped their record down to 2-21.

Dixon lost to Richlands on the road by a decisive 65-48 margin in their previous matchup on Thursday. Can Dixon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
