Baseball Recap: Miller School of Albemarle Makes It 26 in a Row at Home

Miller School of Albemarle waltzed into their game on Tuesday with 13 straight wins... but they left with 14. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Calvert Hall Cardinals a 5-0 shutout. Five seems to be a good number for the Mavericks as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Kason Wagner tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Warrington, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Proctor, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Miller School of Albemarle pushed their record up to 22-5 with the win, which was their 26th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Calvert Hall, they moved to 4-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Miller School of Albemarle will face off against Hargrave Military Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mavericks are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. Calvert Hall does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
