Baseball Recap: Bradford Comes Up Short

Bradford extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 4-8 in the process. They came up short against the Clearfield Bison, falling 10-3. The Owls were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bison from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Anthony Lama and Talan Reese stepped up to the plate in a big way. Lama went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run, while Reese went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Reese has launched this season.

As for Clearfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.

On Clearfield's side, Kam Kushner was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Landon Brady, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bradford will face off against Coudersport at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clearfield, they will take on Huntingdon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bearcats' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Bison's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
