Baseball Game Preview: Minster Wildcats vs. Russia Raiders

The Minster Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Russia Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Minster has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Minster and St. John's, and Minster kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bluejays 2-1.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Russia was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 7-0 to Versailles. The loss was the Raiders' first of the season.

Minster's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average this season. As for Russia, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Minster skirted past Russia 3-1 in their previous matchup back in March of 2019. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
