Floydada waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They put the hurt on the Lockney Longhorns with a sharp 11-0 win. The game was the first time the Whirlwinds have beaten the Longhorns on their field since April 22, 2023.

The team relied heavily on Brandyn Diaz, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Brody Hughes also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Floydada always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lockney only posted an OBP of .158.

Floydada's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Lockney, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Looking ahead, Floydada will be playing in front of their home fans against Sanford-Fritch at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lockney does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
