Basketball Recap: Lucas Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Lucas, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints by a score of 55-45 on Monday.

Lucas found their leader in freshman Riley Trumpower, who went 6 of 12 en route to 19 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Trumpower has been hot recently, having posted five or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Griffey, who posted 14 points and eight boards.

Despite the loss, Tuscarawas Central Catholic still got an impressive performance from Nora Jackson, who had 19 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Jackson a new career-high in points. Julia Sciarretti was another key player, going 5 of 11 on her way to 12 points along with five boards and four steals.

The victory got Lucas back to even at 5-5. As for Tuscarawas Central Catholic, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Lucas didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-19 win against Crestline on the 4th. As for Tuscarawas Central Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-45 victory against Conotton Valley on the 2nd.
