Las Cruces is 9-1 against Mayfield since June of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. Las Cruces will venture away from home to challenge Mayfield at 7:00 p.m. Las Cruces will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

On Thursday, Las Cruces got the win against Hobbs by a conclusive 14-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Bulldawgs have posted against the Eagles since April 1, 2022.

Joaquin Pfeiffer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Nick Rojas was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Garrett Doil also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Las Cruces kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Mayfield had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Dragons.

Las Cruces pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Mayfield, the win got them back to even at 5-5-1.

Las Cruces took their victory against Mayfield when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-4. Will Las Cruces repeat their success, or does Mayfield has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
