Soccer Recap: Vela Comes Up Short

Vela was the 2-1 winner over Pioneer when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Vela Sabercats fell just short of the Pioneer Diamondbacks by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The Sabercats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Vela's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Pioneer, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1-2.

Vela will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sharyland at 8:00 p.m. on February 4th. As for Pioneer, they will take on Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Pioneer is facing Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial at the right time seeing as Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
