Soccer Game Preview: Salesian College Preparatory vs. Saint Mary's

Salesian College Preparatory hasn't had much luck against Saint Mary recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Salesian College Preparatory Pride will challenge the Saint Mary's Panthers at 3:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Salesian College Preparatory is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They fell 3-1 to Pinole Valley. That's two games in a row now that the Pride have lost by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, Saint Mary's managed to keep up with El Cerrito until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Saint Mary's lost 3-0 to El Cerrito. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 550th, while the Gauchos are ranked 135th).

Saint Mary's has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5-1 record this season. As for Salesian College Preparatory, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-4.
