Softball Recap: Deshler Triumphs

Deshler's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the Cascade Champions get on the board and left with an 8-0 win.

Alivia Lewis made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted over her last ten matchups.

In other batting news, Malaya Jackson was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last seven games. Another player making a difference was Kiersten Willingham, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Deshler's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Cascade, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Deshler has already played their next matchup, a 4-1 win against Connersville on the 26th. As for Cascade, they are taking a road trip to square off against Camden Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Camden Central's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Cascade's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
