College Park fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Benicia on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-3. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Sebastian Alvarez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, College Park saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trent 'TJ' Lanza, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

College Park's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Benicia, their record now sits at 14-6.

While College Park had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
