Basketball Game Preview: Miller Place Panthers vs. John Glenn Knights

Miller Place hasn't had much luck against John Glenn recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Miller Place Panthers will head out to take on the John Glenn Knights at 5:15 p.m. Miller Place has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Friday, Miller Place lost to Islip at home by a 58-43 margin. The Panthers were down 53-24 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite their loss, Miller Place saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ava Zicchinelli, who posted nine points along with seven boards and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. The dominant performance also gave Zicchinelli a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Julie Orenzo, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 13 points.

Meanwhile, John Glenn came up short against Kings Park back in December of 2024 and fell 52-41. The Knights have struggled against the Kingsmen recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Miller Place's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for John Glenn, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Miller Place took a serious blow against John Glenn when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 58-26. Can Miller Place avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
