Baseball Recap: Brillion Falls Short of New Holstein in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Brillion can now relate to. They fell just short of the New Holstein Huskies by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Huskies earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Brillion saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joe Shimek, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. The Lions are 6-1 when Shimek posts two or more runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Another was Aiden Reinke, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

The defeat snapped Brillion's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-11 record. As for New Holstein, their victory bumped their record up to 13-14.

Brillion does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Holstein, they have already played their next matchup, a 7-2 loss against Kewaunee on the 4th.
