Basketball Recap: Campbell County Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Campbell County duked it out with Knoxville Central on Thursday. The Cougars fell 72-61 to the Bobcats. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the loss, Campbell County still got an impressive performance from Jake Hatmaker, who shot 47% from the field en route to 21 points. Hatmaker is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 47% in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Dotson, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 11 points and seven boards.

Campbell County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Knoxville Central, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-2.

Campbell County has already played their next matchup, an 82-58 loss against Scott on the 14th. As for Knoxville Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-61 victory against Pigeon Forge on the 13th.
