Softball Recap: Dover Comes Up Short

Dover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spaulding Red Raiders. The Green Wave were not able to make up for their loss to the Red Raiders from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Kaitlyn Jolicoeur spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Aaliyah Lafleur made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Shepard, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Dover now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Spaulding, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Dover will take on rival Winnacunnet at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Spaulding is set to challenge their familiar foe Timberlane at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
