Basketball Recap: Sachse's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

While it was all tied up 30-30 at halftime, Sachse was not quite Wylie East's equal in the second half on Friday. They lost 65-45 to the Wylie East Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mustangs have suffered since December 1, 2023.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Austin Young, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Banks, who put up 12 points.

Sachse moved to 13-14 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Wylie East, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season.

Sachse will take on North Garland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Garland knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Sachse likes a good challenge. As for Wylie East, they are taking a road trip to take on South Garland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
