Baseball Recap: Austin Comes Up Short

Austin started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Hazel Green. They came up short against the Hazel Green Trojans on Saturday, falling 16-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Black Bears of the 6-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Austin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trey Harville, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Austin and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Hazel Green, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coincidentally, Austin and Hazel Green will both be playing Russellville the next time they take the field. Hazel Green will head out to face Russellville at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Austin will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
