After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Shady Spring, Independence was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the St. Albans Red Dragons 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Red Dragons last Wednesday, they had to take a 11-6 loss.

Independence's win bumped their record up to 4-8-1. As for St. Albans, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Independence beat the Red Dragons by a score of 6-5 later that day.
