Softball Recap: Oakland Catholic Comes Up Short

If Oakland Catholic was feeling good fresh off their 15-9 takedown of Ringgold on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Oakland Catholic lost 20-1 to the West Mifflin Titans on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against West Mifflin this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-4 back in April.

Oakland Catholic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Waffensmith, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Oakland Catholic dropped their record down to 2-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for West Mifflin, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Oakland Catholic will welcome Ringgold at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for West Mifflin, they will square off against Thomas Jefferson at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
