Baseball Recap: Taft Comes Up Short

Taft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 5-0 to the Edna Cowboys. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Greyhounds of the 6-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Taft saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gilbert Hinojosa, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Edna, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

Taft didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 1-1 tie against Rockport-Fulton on the 1st. As for Edna, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-0 win against Mathis on the 1st.
