Basketball Recap: James River Find Success

James River won the last time they faced Faith Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The James River Knights rang in the new year with a 32-24 win over the Faith Christian Warriors.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matthew Burton, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 50% of Faith Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Childress, who put up four points.

The victory got James River back to even at 6-6. As for Faith Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. James River will take on Floyd County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Faith Christian, they will square off against King's Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
