Softball Recap: Gillespie Takes a Loss

Gillespie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 9-1 to the Auburn Trojans. That's two games in a row now that the Miners have lost by exactly eight runs.

Sadie Sholtis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run. Delaney Taylor also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Gillespie's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Auburn, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Gillespie will challenge Nokomis at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Auburn, they will face off against Hartsburg-Emden at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
