Basketball Recap: Atlantic Collegiate Academy Comes Up Short

Atlantic Collegiate Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 74-41 defeat at the hands of the Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes. While losing is never fun, the Armada can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while the Swamp Foxes are ranked sixth).

Skyla Tuthill continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Ashley Ridge, putting up 20 points along with five assists and four steals. Tuthill's afternoon made it 11 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Jameson Foley was another key player, posting 15 points and four steals.

Atlantic Collegiate Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Ashley Ridge, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.

Atlantic Collegiate Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Oceanside Collegiate Academy at 1:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Ashley Ridge and South River will round out the year against one another at at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Ashley Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.9 points per game this season.
