Basketball Recap: Big Valley Christian Takes a Loss

Big Valley Christian played a tough contest on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Sonora Wildcats 84-50. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-19.

When it comes to explaining why Big Valley Christian lost, don't look at Titus Boone. Despite the final result, he went 10 for 21 on his way to 22 points and three steals. Titus Beers was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Sonora's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quentin Solis led the charge by going 9 of 18 on his way to 24 points and eight assists. Those eight assists gave Solis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Wright, who went 7 of 10from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points and five assists.

Big Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Sonora, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Big Valley Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-49 defeat against Beyer on the 5th. As for Sonora, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 46-43 loss against Chavez on the 11th.
