Softball Preview: Stratford Academy Eagles vs. Tattnall Square Academy Trojans
On Tuesday Stratford Academy will have to hit the road after four straight games at home. They will challenge the Tattnall Square Academy Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Wednesday, Stratford Academy got the win against John Milledge Academy by a conclusive 12-6.
Meanwhile, Tattnall Square Academy faced Piedmont Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Everything went Tattnall Square Academy's way against Piedmont Academy as Tattnall Square Academy made off with a 17-8 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Trojans who have now won five matchups in a row.
Anna Mary Talcott was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Logue, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Tattnall Square Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Piedmont Academy only posted a batting average of .348.
Stratford Academy's record is now 12-9. As for Tattnall Square Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.
