Softball Recap: Augusta Christian Takes a Loss

Augusta Christian lost against Hammond on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Augusta Christian Lions fell just short of the Hammond Skyhawks by a score of 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Augusta Christian and nudges their season record down to 4-3. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Hammond, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Augusta Christian will square off against Fox Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hammond will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Heathwood Hall Episcopal at 5:00 p.m. on April 1st. Hammond is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
