            Basketball Recap: Weequahic Indians vs. East Side Red Raiders        
        
		
        
        
            Weequahic lost against East Side back in December of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Monday. The Weequahic Indians took  a  56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Side Red Raiders. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Red Raiders  12-7 in the first  quarter.
 Weequahic lost  despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being   James Porter, who  went 8 for 14  on his way to 18  points. Another player making a difference was  Riyahd McDonald, who  went 5 of 8  en route to 13 points and eight  boards.
Weequahic has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost four of their last five contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record  this season. That  patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 58.4 points per game. As for East Side,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 10-8.
 Weequahic will venture away from home to  square off against Eagle Academy  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for East Side, they won't have much time to rest: their next  matchup is against West Side  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
