Softball Recap: Columbus Grove Bulldogs vs. Perry Commodores
Columbus Grove's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Perry Commodores with a sharp 11-1 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Zoey Patchet was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Breanna Hoffman, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Columbus Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Columbus Grove's win bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Perry, their loss was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbus Grove will head out to take on Pandora-Gilboa at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Perry, they will venture away from home to square off against Jefferson at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
