Basketball Recap: Okawville Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Okawville and Carrollton squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Okawville had to settle for second. They fell 34-22 to the Carrollton Hawks. The matchup marked the Rockets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Okawville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Caroline Tepe, who posted seven points and three steals.

Lauren Flowers was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds for Carrollton. The contest was Flowers' third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Blake Driskill, who scored six points.

With the defeat, Okawville broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-12. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.3 points over those games. As for Carrollton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-7 record this season.

Okawville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carrollton, they will face off against Calhoun/Brussels at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
